BelCARDIO® enables physicians and medical professionals to understand within 10 minutes whether the patient has recently had a myocardial infarction or if there are other symptoms confirming the condition. The BelCARDIO test can determine whether the cause of chest pain in the patient is due to acute myocardial infarction or other.

Patient with myocardial infarction - yes or no?

Whether it is general, specialized, emergency, or out of hospital, the doctor needs to quickly and categorically diagnose the patient's acute chest pain and the accompanying symptom. However, it is not always possible to determine exactly whether the symptoms are the result of a heart attack or for any other reason. The rapid BelCARDIO® test establishes exactly within 10 minutes whether the patient has suffered a myocardial infarction.

The quality of the BelCARDIO® test (ie the result is either positive or negative) shows the biomarker hFABP (cardiac type protein associated with fatty acids or so-called myocardial ischemia biomarker) found in capillary blood approximately 20 minutes after the occurrence of the accident. In addition, a parallel quality test for troponin I, which can be detected only about 4 hours after a severe heart attack, is also performed. The study showed with great accuracy (98%) the onset of myocardial infarction. A few minutes for diagnosis provide double the accuracy and security, thus increasing the patient's chances of healing without permanent damage.

In day-to-day practice, the BelCARDIO® test allows for the reliable identification of patients with chest pain caused by acute myocardial infarction, which are less than 20% of all patients with complaints caused by actual heart problems. The test records even a very mild myocardial infarction or one without ECG changes.
